Alternate posting location

Hello.

In the month of July, I will be going back through Bonding and editing the previously posted chapters.  The edits will include cleaning up some of the grammar, including line breaks in the first 25-30 chapters, and significantly shortening a few of the intimate scenes that have been posted (i.e. de-lemoning them) so they will fit into FanFiction's 'M' rating.

Additionally I will be going through, and have already begun, altering the intimate scenes in some of my other stories.  Stories that have already been or are in the process of being altered include Tomorrow Too, Deceiving Appearances, Future, Could Have.  Other stories that will be modified is Should Have, Bonding, The Kiss & then there are the stories that...I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing with.

That being said, I have been debating what to do regarding some of the stories I have written.

I did look into potentially starting a website devoted to Hermione/Minerva stories that would enable NC-17.  I previously wrote for (and once Bonding is finished) will be going back to finish some open stories under Adama/Roslin fanfiction (Survival Instinct) and had thought of using that website as a model for HG/MM stories.  After some cursory research, I quickly realized that website design was not something I have any background in.  And I do not have the time to learn how to set one up and be an Administrator/Moderator...etc.  If I was that fluent, and had time, there would already be a website in the works.  ;)

So while an option, that is one I will leave to the fandom/readers/i.e. anyone reading this.  If there is enough interest, I will help underwrite the initial cost, but the maintenance & day to day running will have to be done by someone else.

Another option I have found, which I am seriously considering, is the website Petulant Poetess to begin uploading some of my previously posted stories in the Harry Potter fandom; including Bonding.

Any thoughts/interest regarding having a HG/MM website?

  1. I really think that posting on a wesite that allows some adult scenes would be very nice!

  2. I think that You can move your stories here...at least at the beginning...in particular those completed without changing...I think that somewhere in the settings you can find the introduction of warning Nc-17 content...

  3. I have read everything that you have psoted on Fanfiction & love it all! Your work is "tasteful"! Every scene needed! Nothing needs to be changed, except where you post!. Please find another website to post your beautiful work w/ the NC-17 warning! What about livejournal or Archive of Our Own? I am new to all of this, so don't know much about posting places. I will follow your work wherever you post!

  4. I like Petulant Poetess, but I've never been able to find stories for Hermione/Minerva.

And I hope you've kept a copy of the orginals. I like the adult scenes, and I think it's a shame fanficion has been taking them down.

  5. Okay...I know I have been buried under a paper rock and out of the loop...not even sure what the heck is happening with FF.net. Never the less, it appears they have lost their minds. Bonding is the best HG/MM story they have. And to mess with it in anyway...well that is just a sin against nature! Not that. My not so humble unprofessional opinion matters....just sayin'.
Rest assured I will follow you anywhere.

  6. Archive of Our Own is good. I know of a number of writers who use that site for their more.. hmm... mature stories that no longer belong on FF.net. (I'm not talking about writers of pure smut, those guys are over on aff.net xD)

LJ is also wonderful for stories, and you can make a group dedicated to MM/HG stories and artwork (I've seen groups solely for femslash, others for one fandom or another.)

  7. I've been a fanfiction addict for years, and though I haven't really any solutions to offer forward I just wanted to drop by and say that I stumbled upon Bonding last year and since then have read in numerous times and am undoubtedly hooked.

It's one of the best fanfictions I've ever read and I LOVE how you've taken a Hermione/Ron and Minerva/Albus story and woven it into a Minerva/Hermione plot without compromising the integrity of the characters. I eagerly awake any updates no matter how sporadic they are and thought you should know how inspiring and well loved your writing is.

I hope you find a way to post Bonding in it's original and intended form somewhere for us all to access and look forward to reading more! Thanks so much for sharing your incredible talent!

    Cheers.

  8. Hey, I just wanted to weigh in a bit on where you can post your stories and fangirl a bit over 'Bonding'. :)

I've seen people recommend Archive of Our Own (AO3), and I definitely agree with it being a great choice for writers and readers alike. The wait-time for an AO3 invite is indeed ridiculously long, but there are lots of other places to post your stories in the interim without having to re-edit them to meet FF restrictions. LiveJournal is one, as is your Blogspot. I think they both offer suitable ways to organise your fanfiction. Tumblr is a neat place to share fanfiction as well, and the community there is pretty active so you might be able to gain more traction over there than through Blogspot. I'm not sure how useful it would be to start a website devoted to the Minerva/Hermione pairing, though, since I have no clue as to how big the fandom is, but I think there's much to be said about you having your own personal space for fanfiction on the interwebs somewhere.

    ---

I came across 'Bonding' last week or so through the Quality Lesbian Romance Across the Fandoms FF Community, and marathon-read it over the course of a few days. It was my very first foray into the Minerva/Hermione pairing, and to be honest, I think it's ruined me for every other Minerva/Hermione fic out there. Way to set the standard!

I love how much depth you've given to each and every one of the characters. The cast here is huge, and yet you've made it so I know exactly who so-and-so is when you mention them, which is all the more amazing when you consider how many OCs there are in the cast. You portray the intricacies and push and pull in relationships tremendously well, too. Whether they be friendship, romantic, or familial relationships, no relationship in 'Bonding' is one-dimensional. That's so hard to find in (fan)fiction, so I kind of love you for how wonderfully you're pulling it off. I kind of love you for a whole lot of other things as well, like the complexity of the plot and how elaborate and interwoven all its elements are, and how there's actually a copious amount of magic in your Harry Potter fic. (I know, right?) The duels are all written brilliantly. There are a few grammatical/spelling errors here and there, but this is a beast of a fic so it's completely understandable, and they don't detract from the overall story either way.

A lot of people I've seen around FF tend to be impatient when it comes to action happening between their pairing of choice, so I think it's a testament to how fantastic your fic is when we're 800k+ words in without so much as a Minerva/Hermione kiss and it still seems to be drawing in so many people simply because of how engaging it is. 'Bonding' is like a beacon of light in the world of fanfiction, seriously. Thank you so much for writing and sharing it with us. And thank you for the inadvertent music recs as well. I checked out Anúna and Celtic Woman while reading your fic and was blown away. Beautiful stuff. Thanks so much!

  9. Darling....a few of us readers have already done a basic "copy edit" on Bonding as far as you've yet written....with the intention of, when you're done, printing & binding it (no pun intended) and then posting pics and asking info to send it and a PDF copy to you, in thanks for the years of work you've put into such a beautiful story... We've been working on it for just under a year and have *almost* finally caught up to you... It was to be a surprise but you might need to know how much your work has meant to many....you're a wonderful writer and an artist of ideas, thank you from all of us....love and light

    1. Dear Alex
I joined the Bonding fanbase a bit late, but am no less enthusiastic for it. I started planning a similar gift for the author to show my appreciation for such a magnificent work, when I came upon your post. I would gladly assist with your endeavour - anything at all. Please do contact me if you find anything for me to do/add. As far as I understand (not very net-savvy), my address should appear. If not, thank you for doing this. It is a great gesture. Many thanks, Beatrie
